Back in Australia, Halal foods were not easy to be found. I have to travel quite for a variety of halal restaurant or cook my own food. I’m lucky because during my second semester in University of Queensland, I’ve decided to move to a new house in which it is located near to a Nandos restaurant. Not all Nandos restaurants in Australia are halal and I’m lucky the one which was near to my house happened to be halal. I just have to walk about 700 meters to that place and lucky me, the restaurant was also very near to an Asian convenient store (we called it Ah-Chai’s store). During the university semester, I will eat there (usually dinner or lunch) at least once a week. It really help to save lots of my precious student times (hehe ^_^). I love Nandos for Its perypery chips and juicy grilled chicken. Not to forget their chicken ribs…nyum2…
After 3 month in Malaysia, I’m really craving for Nandos chicken especially the BBQ grilled chicken….so….last 2 weeks; my friend (happened to study in Australia too…) and I went to SACC Nandos for lunch. Surprisingly, the taste of the chicken was still the same (or better) but the perryperry chips were not as good as in Australia. If we carry out a currency conversion, Nandos in Malaysia can be considered cheap compared to Australia but with the Malaysian ringgit value, a 25 Ringgit meal (half chicken with 2 side dishes—no water) is insanely expensive.I can eat 2 times at Mamak and 5 times at Malay restaurant with that money. Back in Australia, a set of half chicken meal with water is only 15 dollars which is okay for an average Australian.
Well…I will not eat Nandos regularly in Malaysia because I have so many other choices here…but a 25 ringgit once a month meal is still worth my money to fulfill my craving …^_^*

Guys... For 1/2 a chicken - nicely flame grilled with 2 side dishes for that price is considered alright. And to be exact, it's RM21++
