This is my working space…my office table. I still don’t have my own pc due to long administrative procedure and people who work like a snail (snail like people)… it has been 8 months.
Forget about the mumble jumble administrative procedure. I’m actually addicted to photography. It fills my desire to find something else beside my daily works. It helps me reduce pressure after office hour and make me relax a bit before continuing my works. I still remember the first camera I bought, AstraPix 2000. It is a simple digital camera with a so so picture quality. That camera makes me want to explore photography. After frustrated with its picture quality and limitation, I treat myself with a new Nikon camera. If I’m not mistaken, the model was L2 and the resolution is just 2.2 megapixels. One of the reasons why I’m switching to L2 is because of the macro capability that AstraPix 2000 can’t deliver to me. I’m using that camera for less than 2 months before it was stolen by a stupid bloke during Friday prayer in my room. Frustrated by that, I bought a Canon digital camera after cannot stand living without a camera…for 2 weeks…hehe… the model is A400. The resolution is just 3.2 megapixels…those pixels count is a mega deals 5 years ago. Since that, I’m falling in love with Canon images. Canon Powershot A400 (full name), even though it is a simple compact camera, it delivers crisp clear image especially in normal daylight. The highlight is great and I love the saturation produced by this camera. It looks natural.
I broke the A400’s LCD while I’m waiting my connecting flight to Brisbane at Perth airport. The camera fallout from my bag pouch and hit a chair’s arm rest at the airport waiting room. That morning, about 2 years ago, the arm rest not only broke A400’s LCD, but also my heart. Luckily, only the LCD was broken, not the camera. The camera’s viewfinder still can be used I’m still smiling with the image quality.
I gave the camera a lifetime rest for its good service for almost 2 years after I’d decided to buy a new camera, a Nikon L12. 10 generation after my 2 stolen cameras, the L2. The pixel count blows my mind…12.5 megapixels if my memory serves me right. I’m happy with the image quality but not satisfy with the crappy flash recycling time. Every time I use the on camera flash, it made me wait 2-4 seconds before I can snap a new picture. Well I’m using the camera just for 6 months.
Summer 2008, when I celebrate my summer holiday in Malaysia, I’d decided to buy an SLR digital camera. After surveying for about 2 years, I decided to buy a Canon 40D… Love the camera…loves the speed, love the pixels, and love everything about it…except for its weight. The camera is a heavy gear …with the added battery grip and 2 batteries…plus a lens attaches to it…almost 2 kg with my current Tokina 11-16 mm. Imagine carrying it here and there every day…even to my work place…
I bough Panasonic Lumix LX3 few months ago to fill in the gap between times when I’m too lazy to bring my SLR…the camera worth every cent of my money…love the wide angle lens, love the F 2.0 capability of the lens…and love the way the camera handles high ISO noise.
Cheers
