Infected Nation

H1N1 virus is one of a heck virus that causes trouble to humanity after HIV virus. If HIV virus is not actually common in human, Influenza virus is very peculiar to human. Normal strain of influenza virus will cause flu and running nose (or in Malay we call it selsema). The new strain (H1N1) however, will not only cause running nose, but also will cause death. Scientist actually shocked by the mutation or evolutionary changes in this virus in order for them to survive because for almost 100 years, Influenza virus is stable and normal vaccine can cure human. The antibody derived from the almost 100 years of vaccination is already enough to combat the normal virus, but not the new strain of the virus. New vaccine for the H1N1 is already reported to be released end of this year…actually I still wonder if the strain mutated due to normal circumstances (in nature) or they are engineered in the lab. Well…no one is sure about that. Maybe we can analyze the protein marker or DNA marker to derived the sequence that actually engineered (mutated in the lab) and run through databases to see where it is rooted from. 

In H1N1 case, Malaysia is one of the nations that are infected by this virus. The virus infection was mainly come from the people who visit overseas and tourist. Last week when I’m in Cameron Highland, I saw a lot of people wearing masks…personally, it’s freaking me out a bit to see all these people with white and green cloth hanging on their faces. Well, I’m sure that even though deaths are reported in Malaysia, the infection is not as bad as in overseas because the Malaysian Government is very serious in combating the pandemic. Malaysian is well aware about the virus and they like to take extra measure about the situation especially when Cameron Highland is the Babylon of overseas tourist. One thing that tickles me a bit is that none of the tourist that I saw wearing masks... ^_^. So much for the virus…hehe

FYI…Virus is not a living organism. They are composed of just DNA, capsule protein and few parts that made out of protein in order for them to survive.
