Spidey

I guess this week my photos are more concentrated on macros. I’m a bit overwhelmed with the macro lens capability and its capacity to capture fine details every time I push the shutter button. From my observation, tripod is very important to reduce camera shake even though if your lens is equipped with image stabilizer (IS- canon/vr- Nikon). This picture was manipulated in Photoshop. My work flow starts with the adjustment of the curve. Usually I will play with the color curve in Lab Color mode. This step requires us to convert the channel from RGB to Lab color. The effect can be seen when you use color instead of black and white. But for this photo, I still tweak the curve. In order to boost the spider (the subject) out so that viewer will concentrate on the subject, this image is composed of 4 separate layers. The first layers is to enhance the spider image itself by further sharpening the image using sharpen tools under filter tools. I don’t intend to write my work flow in detail due to time constrain.
